Wakasa Japanese Paper

Obama is blessed with quality water. This handmade paper, made from clean water, carefully selected mulberry and oriental paper brush wood, has a beautiful color and is very strong.

Beautifully dyed craft paper is also available, and many fans come from far away to purchase it for making paper dolls and colored paper collages. Small crafted paper items such as stationary and envelopes are also popular as souvenirs.

At Wakasa Washi no Ie (in Onyu), visitors can practice making paper hands-on. Make your own original Japanese paper in just one hour.
