Wakasa Lacquer Dharma

Wakasa Lacquer Dharma are made by pouring colored lacquer into a container, breaking down the hardened parts, and polishing them. Each and every face is also hand painted. Color, shape, and expression are different for every one of them. Many people use a "Gokaku Dharma" that never falls over as a charm during the entrance exam season from December to February, and the souvenir has gained attention across the country.

At Tsukamoto Mingei Center (Fukutani), visitors can try painting their lacquer dharma.
